Kelsey Green
I reside in Washington State and sometimes get caught up just marveling at the beauty of this place.
I received my undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from University of Oregon, and my Masters of Science in GeoScience from University of Edinburgh, Scotland. I leaned into learning about the environment from many angles: the scientific, the political, the philosophical, and the way that humans interact with it. This is the multi-faceted foundation from which I approach my work, and both my education and the breadth of my career explorations lend itself to understanding the bigger picture as it pertains to, and informs, how people perceive, value and engage with the world around them.
Beginning as a field biologist, I quickly learned that I hated sitting in a blind but I loved chatting with landowners, agency representatives, and the public. I found myself in the nonprofit sector, landed in local government, and then purposefully created a business focusing on coalition building, stakeholder engagement, and long-term strategic visioning.
Having supported both environmentalists and farmers, I believe that the dichotomy between environmental and agricultural interests is not a necessary one, and I work with partners and collaborators to dissolve it with joy, and bring together stakeholders over a great (metaphorical and ideally also actual) meal.
I wrote my master’s thesis on honeybee decline and was stung five times in the face. Thankfully, it was also published. Often valuable work takes a little blood, sweat and tears but it is worth it.
It is my deep honor and privilege to work with extraordinary people putting their energy toward amazing projects.
I would love to hear more about yours.
