Building a Coalition

Lessons from Facilitating the 2023 Kittitas County Pride Process

It has been my honor to have helped co-create and build a coalition and a thriving, robust county-wide Pride Process in Central Washington, an area not so friendly to Pride groups as our pals over on the west side of the mountains.

I now serve as the facilitator of this group, serving the board of directors after we became an official 501(c)3.

I feel that almost all of my past and current work is and has been important, and for the good. I have worked on environmental projects, community building and coached individuals. But to see a group of people find community in a place where they had not felt it before; where they existed in isolated pockets longing for more liberal environments: what a privilege. And a reminder: Do Work that Counts.
